YES .. my 2nd pair have returned to their chosen nest box!

This morning, I was delighted to be able to confirm that my 2nd pair of Swifts, which returned on May 10th have definitely taken up residence in the nest box they chose, after much deliberation, last year. 😎

So for the first time ever, it looks like I'll have two pairs of Swifts nesting here this year.

From 15 years of never even seeing a Swift around here, it is indeed a joy to now regularly have 4 flying around over my garden, screaming past my nest boxes & best of all, breeding in my nest boxes. 😎

If you haven't put boxes up yet on your own house, I'd highly recommend that you do so asap, for there is surely no more exciting bird to have as neighbours. 👍

I was absolutely delighted to see that all four of my resident Swifts have now returned.

Swifts - in flight entertainment!

 

This is something you don't see every day.

On April 30th my first pair of Swifts returned.

Today I managed to capture them actually mating in flight, over my North Antrim garden.

April 30th - Swifts home again.

 April 30th saw my original pair of Swifts arrive back here, in North Antrim.
